Mohammed Rafiuddin

Our little place is located on Tippu Sultan Road, right inside the Androon Qilla area of Raichur. The house number is 2-6-27/2. It’s an old part of Karnataka, so the streets are narrow and can get quite crowded with people and cycles. Mohammed Rafiuddin started this setup in one of the front rooms of the house. It isn't a corporate office with glass doors and air conditioning that works all the time. We mostly just have a couple of sturdy tables and some old fans to keep the heat away. Raichur can get really hot, so we usually start early in the morning before it gets too bad. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. We just talk to people who walk through the door. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, I suppose. The building is old but it stays cool enough if you keep the shutters down. Sometimes the street noise from Tippu Sultan Road gets a bit loud, especially during festivals, but we’re used to it by now. We’ve been at this address for a long time, and the neighbors all know us by name. There’s no big sign outside, just the number on the wall. We handle whatever tasks come our way without making a big deal out of it. It’s just an honest day’s work for us here in the fort area.
