M.G. Foods is located right at the Daripur Chorah in the Salon-Rae area. Being at a crossroads like this means there’s always something happening outside the front door. People are always stopping their bikes or tractors to grab something or just to ask for directions to the next town. We started this because we wanted to provide decent food products to the people living around here. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the country or anything. We just want to make sure the stuff we produce is clean and tastes like it should. The shop area is small and the back part is where all the actual work happens every day. It can get pretty cramped and hot when we have a big order to fill by the weekend. We use local ingredients as much as we can find them in the nearby markets. My brother handles the deliveries on his old scooter most of the time, weaving through the traffic. It’s a family thing, really. We don't have a big marketing budget or any fancy flyers, so we just rely on people telling their neighbors about us. The rain sometimes floods the road a bit in the monsoon, but we stay open regardless. It’s just how it is in this district. We’ve lived here our whole lives and we know most everyone around the chorah. It’s a good place to keep a business going.
