Aster Garments

Aster Garments is based at House No. 26 in Chakganjagiri, which is off Raitha Road near the old Chatta Mill. It’s a bit further out than some of the other garment places, located near Sitapur Road. Because we are in a house rather than a big factory building, the atmosphere is a bit more relaxed. We have different rooms for different tasks. One room is for cutting the fabric, another for the stitching, and the main hall is where we do the final checking and packing. It’s not a high-tech operation by any means. We use standard sewing machines and do a lot of the work by hand. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, except for the occasional tractor or motorbike passing by on Raitha Road. We don’t have any big signs out front, so most people only find us if they already know we are here. We have a small team of dedicated people who have been with us for years. We spend our days surrounded by piles of cloth and spools of thread. It’s a steady kind of life. We don’t worry about marketing ourselves or trying to look bigger than we are. We just focus on the garments that are sitting on our tables. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back on. It’s a simple, honest way to run a business in this part of town without any extra stress.
