Ua Cement Products

We are set up right near the APMC Yard in Salmara. Being this close to the yard means we are always surrounded by the sounds of big engines and people shouting orders to get trucks loaded. Our place is full of the gray dust that comes with cement work, and it settles on everything from the windowsills to our boots. We spend most of our time outside or in the open shed area where we handle the products. It’s heavy work, and our hands are usually rough from moving things around all day. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist; if you want to find us, you just walk in and look for whoever isn't carrying something heavy at the moment. The weather in Salmara dictates how our day goes. If it’s raining, we’re scrambling to cover things up, and if it’s sunny, we’re sweating through our shirts while we work. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the background, mostly just for a bit of noise while we go about our business. There’s a small bench where we sit for ten minutes to eat our tiffin and watch the activity at the APMC Yard across the way. It’s a simple, hardworking life without any frills. We focus on the concrete and the blocks, making sure they’re ready when they need to be. When the sun goes down, we wash the dust off our faces and head home to do it all again tomorrow.
