Purulia Cement Pvt Ltd is based out of Niraj Apartment on South Lake Road. We are in Flat No-4/B. It’s a simple apartment building in the Purulia district. We don’t have a big factory office right here; this is more for the administrative side of things. We have files on shipments and accounts stacked on the shelves. The room is a bit small, but it fits three desks and a printer that sometimes jams. We can see the lake road from the window. It’s a decent view. Most of our day is spent on the phone or writing out orders. It’s dusty work sometimes because of the nature of the business, even if we are just in the office. People come in to drop off papers. We know most of them by name. There’s no lobby or waiting area. You just walk in and we’re right there. We use old-fashioned ledgers for some things because it’s just easier. The ceiling fan makes a clicking sound that we’ve stopped noticing. We've been here for a while. It’s a steady pace. Not much changes from week to week. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the weather. It’s a local business through and through. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just do our work and go home. The stairs are a bit steep if you aren't used to them. We like being central though. It's a solid place to be for this kind of trade.
