Saloni General Store

Saloni General Store is a local shop right by the Old Bus Stand and near the Kotwali. It’s a very central spot, so we get all kinds of people coming in throughout the day. Some are just passing through on their way to the police station, and others are regulars who live just around the corner. We sell a little bit of everything. You can find snacks, soaps, notebooks, and all those small daily things that people suddenly realize they ran out of. The shelves are packed tight, and sometimes it's hard to find things if you don't know where to look. We try to keep a bit of everything so no one leaves empty-handed. There is a lot of noise from the buses and the general bustle of the town center, but we like the energy of it. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when things get a bit slow, but that doesn't happen very often. Usually, there is a kid wanting a piece of candy or someone needing a recharge for their phone. We've been here for a long time and have seen the town change quite a bit from our front door. It’s a simple business, but it keeps us connected to everyone in the neighborhood. We open up quite early and stay late until the last few people have cleared out from the bus stand area. I usually start cleaning up the jars around seven in the evening.
