Rahul General Store

Rahul General Store is our little shop over in Teja Tola, Kamatwade. It’s nothing fancy, just a regular place where you can find the basics for your house. We’ve got shelves lining the walls, and they are usually packed tight with all sorts of things. Sometimes it's hard to find a specific item quickly, but we usually know where everything is tucked away. I’ve been running this place for a long time, and I’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The road outside used to be much quieter, but now there are more people and more noise. Still, it’s home. We open up early because the morning folks like to get their stuff before heading to work. I usually have my tea while waiting for the first customer. My son helps out in the evenings when he's done with his other work. We aren't looking to expand or become a big chain. We just like being the local store where people can find what they need. If someone is short a few rupees, we usually tell them to pay next time. It’s that kind of neighborhood. The roof leaks a bit when it rains really hard, but we know where to put the buckets. We don't need things to be perfect, just functional. It’s a good way to live, being part of the community and helping out where we can. We try to keep the most popular items right at the front so people can see them.
