Charchika Marble

We’ve been here at Charchika Marble on Marine Drive Road for a good while now. It gets quite busy around here, especially with the HDFC Bank ATM being right next to us. People are always coming and going. Honestly, selling marble is heavy work. Most days involve us moving slabs around and making sure things aren't cracked or chipped. It’s a bit dusty in the yard most of the time. My shirt usually has some white powder on it by lunch. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the yard gets crowded when a new shipment comes in from the trucks. The road outside can get loud with the traffic going down Kumutipatna. Some folks stop by just because they saw the sign while heading to the bank. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk and some samples. We spend most of our time out where the stone is. It’s a lot of lifting and measuring. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit messy, but that’s just how it is working with stone. We know most of the neighbors now. It's a decent spot. We just focus on getting the right pieces to people who need them for their floors or kitchens. Nothing too complicated about it. We just open up in the morning and stay until the work is done. It's been like this for years and we've gotten used to the pace of this part of town.
