We’ve been running things here in Vill Tajpur for a while now. It’s a bit of a trek out to Sonakhali, especially when the roads get muddy after the heavy rain, but we make it work every day. Most of us are from around West Midnapur, so it feels like a local spot even if the name sounds a bit formal on the letterhead. We spend most of our time dealing with the strips and making sure everything is stacked right in the warehouse. It gets pretty loud on the floor with the machines running, but you get used to it after a week or two on the job. There isn’t much around the site besides some open fields and a few trees, so we usually bring our lunch from home and eat together under the shade when we get a break. Sometimes the power goes out, which is a real pain, but we just wait it out or fix what we can in the dark. The gate at the front squeaks a bit every time someone walks through, and we’ve been meaning to oil it for months, but we never seem to get around to it. It’s just a regular workplace where people show up, do their shifts, and go home. We don’t have fancy offices or anything like that. Just the main shed and some old desks for the paperwork. It’s dusty work, and your hands get dirty within ten minutes of starting.
