Hindustan Steel Pvt. Ltd. is situated in Jhumki, over by the Battala area in Egra. It’s a local spot that most people around here know well. We’ve been working out of this location for several years, and the building has definitely seen a lot of use. Egra isn't a massive city, so word gets around pretty fast about who is doing what and where. We handle a lot of steel, so there is always a bit of an iron smell in the air and plenty of heavy lifting for the crew. The guys we have here at Jhumki are mostly locals who have grown up in this area. We don’t go in for fancy suits or big corporate meetings; we usually just talk things over on the floor while we’re busy working. The yard can get a bit messy with scraps and materials, but we know where everything is kept. Battala can be a busy crossing, so there's always a bit of noise from the road, but we don't mind it much anymore. It’s just part of the daily routine for us. We make sure the gates are open early and we stay until the work for the day is finished. Sometimes the monsoon rain makes things difficult, especially when we’re moving stuff around outside in the yard, but we manage to get it done. Hindustan Steel is just a group of people putting in a full day's work in Egra. We don't try to be anything we aren't.
