The Golden Retreat

Down here in Debhog, at the City Centre, we’ve been running The Golden Retreat for some time now. It’s not a huge place, but it serves the local area well enough. Most people find us because we’re right in the middle of things here. Life in this part of West Bengal moves at its own pace, and we try to match that. We have rooms for people traveling through and a place to sit and have a meal. It’s nothing too complicated. We spend a lot of our time making sure everything is tidy and the plumbing works like it should, which can be a chore sometimes in older buildings. The staff are mostly from around here, so they know the streets and where to find things if a guest asks. We don't have a big marketing team or anything; it’s just us answering the phones and greeting people when they walk through the door. The City Centre location is handy for those who need to be near the shops or the main transport links. We get a mix of business travelers and families visiting relatives. Sometimes it's quiet, and other days everyone shows up at once. We just handle it as it comes. It's a straightforward business, really. We've seen a lot of changes in Debhog over the years, but we’re still here in the same spot, doing the same work every day.
