About Tirupati Rice Mill – Food & Beverages in Purba Bardhaman
The mill is right near the Adi Lakshmi Temple in U. Kothapalli. You can’t miss it because of the constant noise of the husking machines. We’ve been at this spot in Sagrai Fatika for years. My family has been working with grain for a long time, and Tirupati Rice Mill is just how we make a living. It’s dusty work, and by the end of the day, everything is covered in a thin layer of white powder. We get the paddy from the local farmers, and we spend the day processing it. The trucks come in early in the morning, sometimes blocking the street near Gopalpur, and we have to move them quickly. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the dryers are at the right temperature. We don't have a big corporate office. Our office is just a small wooden desk in the corner of the warehouse where we keep the ledgers. The air smells like toasted grain and rain when the weather turns. It’s busy during the harvest season, and we barely have time to sit down for a meal. My cousins help out with the loading, and we have a few local guys who have been with us since the start. It’s a simple operation. We focus on the rice and the people who bring it to us. It’s just how things are done here in the village. We wake up early, do the work, and close the heavy gates at night.
