Sree Ganesh Rice Mill

Sree Ganesh Rice Mill is located right in Balarampur. It’s a straightforward place where we handle the local rice processing. I’ve been working here since I was much younger, and the routine hasn't changed all that much over the years. We start early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. The sound of the machinery starting up is how we begin our day. Balarampur is a place where people know their neighbors, so we see a lot of familiar faces coming through the gates. The mill itself is old-fashioned in many ways. We don't have fancy computers running everything. It’s more about knowing the sound of the engines and seeing the quality of the grain with your own eyes. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved, moving sacks from one corner to the other. Sometimes the dust gets thick, but we just open the big doors to let the breeze in. It is a very hands-on kind of job. We don't spend much time sitting around. If the machines are running, we are working. We take our breaks together and talk about the weather or the local news. It’s just a normal life for us here, doing what needs to be done to keep the mill going. We are just part of the everyday landscape in this town, and we are fine with that.
