Sagarbhanga Foundry & Engineering Gopinathpur

Our foundry is over in Durgapur, specifically at 1/14 Matangini Hazra Bithi. It’s a pretty industrial part of West Bengal, which suits us just fine. Working in a foundry is hot, sweaty work. There is no way around that. We spend our days around furnaces and molds, making parts that eventually go into bigger machines or buildings. The air always smells a bit like burnt metal and coal, but you get used to it after the first week. We’ve got a group of guys who have been doing this for years. They know the rhythm of the machines better than anyone. Gopinathpur is where most of us live, so the commute isn't too bad, which is a blessing. Sometimes the equipment acts up and we have to spend half a day fixing a sensor or a belt, but that is just part of the job. We aren’t trying to change the world or anything, we just want to make sure the castings we put out are solid and usable. It’s hard labor and it isn't for everyone. You leave at the end of the shift covered in grime, but there is a certain kind of satisfaction in seeing a finished part come out of the mold. We stay busy with whatever orders come in from local factories. It’s a practical business run by people who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. Anyway, that is us.
