Radha Rice Shop

We are located at Chandisthan, right by the main gate area in Durgapur. The shop is not very large, but we pack a lot of different rice varieties into the space we have. You will see the big jute bags lined up against the walls and stacked in the corners. It is a busy part of town so there is always the sound of traffic and people talking outside. We open up the shutters every morning and spend some time cleaning the front area. People come in and out all day, some buying just a kilo and others taking a whole bag for the month. We use old-style scales to weigh everything out. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded inside when more than three people show up at once. We don't have air conditioning or fancy displays. It is just the rice and the bags and a small counter where we take the cash. The district of West Burdwan gets quite hot, so we usually have a fan running at full speed behind the counter. We know most of our regular customers by name and we usually chat for a minute or two while we tie up their bags. It is a basic shop and we like it that way. We just focus on keeping the bins full and making sure we don't run out of the popular local grains. There is always something to do around here.
