Our place is situated right opposite the Sarada Cold Storage in Memari. It’s a local spot in West Bengal, with the pincode 713146, where we handle the fruit and vegetable side of Mother Dairy. Being near a cold storage is pretty important for what we do because things can spoil fast in the heat. It’s a practical location, right where the farmers can bring their produce and where we can organize it for the markets. It isn't a high-tech facility with lots of glass walls. It is more of a functional warehouse and loading area. You’ll see a lot of crates of seasonal fruits and heaps of vegetables depending on the time of year. The staff here knows how to tell a good batch from a bad one just by looking. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving boxes and checking the inventory. It can get a bit hectic when a big shipment arrives, but we manage to get through it. We don't have a big marketing team here in Memari. Most of our work is about logistics and making sure the produce is handled properly. It’s a bit of a dusty road outside, and the noise of the trucks is constant, but that’s just the nature of the business. We are just a group of people making sure the local supply chain keeps moving like it should. We get the vegetables in and get them back out as quickly as possible.
