Annapurna Udyog

Annapurna Udyog is located out in P.O. Barakar, in the Burdwan district. Being in an industrial-leaning area like this means there’s always a bit of noise from the nearby workshops and the sound of heavy vehicles passing by. Our building is a sturdy one, built to handle the kind of manufacturing work we do. It’s not a place where you’d find fancy rugs or designer chairs. We have heavy benches, old-fashioned desks, and a lot of tools scattered around. The air in Barakar can be a bit heavy with the smell of coal and metal, but that’s just the character of the place. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the people at the local post office and the tea stalls. The work is mostly about precision and making sure the machines are running right. If a machine stops, everything stops, so we spend a lot of time on maintenance. We don’t have a big marketing department. We just rely on the fact that people in Burdwan know who we are and what we do. It’s a family-style environment where everyone chips in, even if it’s not strictly their job description. Sometimes we stay late when a big order needs to go out, but that’s just part of running a small udyog. It’s hard work, but we like it here. It is just how we have always done things in this part of the country.
