You can find us over at Nirmal Township in the Kalepadal area of Hadapsar, Pune. We are at D-7/14. We deal in stones, which means our yard is usually full of slabs of granite, marble, and different kinds of tiles. It’s a heavy business. Every day involves moving things that weigh hundreds of kilos using our hands or small lifts. We have a lot of dust on our clothes by the end of the shift, that’s just part of the trade. People come to us when they are building a house or fixing up a kitchen. They want to see the patterns in the stone, so we spend a lot of time moving slabs around so the light hits them just right. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning and music. It’s more of a practical place where you can see the actual material. Pune is growing fast, so there’s always someone building something nearby. We’ve been in Hadapsar for a while and we know most of the local builders and contractors. Sometimes we have trouble with the transport trucks getting stuck in traffic or a slab cracking during delivery, which is always a big headache for us. But we just deal with it and keep going. We like the natural look of the stone and how every piece is a little bit different from the next. If you stop by, you’ll see us working with the cutters.
