Viman Nagar Industrial Area Phase-2 is where we are tucked away, specifically over in Somnath Nagar near Vadgaon Sher. This part of town is pretty dusty because of all the construction and the big trucks passing through. At Yeshwant Oil Depot General Stores, we mostly deal with bulk cooking oil and the kind of stuff workers need for their daily meals. It’s a large room with big metal drums and stacks of gunny bags. The smell of raw oil and spices is quite strong as soon as you step inside. We don’t have fancy displays or those bright lights you see in supermarkets. It’s more of a warehouse style where you come in, tell us what you need, and we weigh it out for you. Since we are in an industrial area, most of our customers are from the nearby factories or the small housing units around Vadgaon Sher. We also keep basic groceries like pulses and salt. The floor is made of rough concrete and is always covered in a bit of dust, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a busy life here. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoons, so we keep the gunny bags near the door to block some of the heat. We’ve been operating in this phase for a good while now and have seen the buildings go up one by one, changing the skyline around Vadgaon Sher completely.
