Walker Footwear Industries Ltd.

We have been operating here at Sr. No. 342/1 in Ambadved for quite some time now. Most people know the spot because it's right near the post office in Paud. Being in Tal. Mulshi means we get a lot of the local rain, and sometimes the road gets a bit messy, but we still make it in every morning to Walker Footwear Industries Ltd. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a regular place where we get the work done. Inside, there is always the smell of rubber and glue because that is what we deal with all day. We have a few machines that have been with us since the start and they make a fair bit of noise. Most of the guys here live nearby, so we walk or take a quick rickshaw. We spend our hours cutting material and checking the soles before they go into boxes. It is steady work. Sometimes we sit outside for a break when the sun isn't too hot. There is no big office or fancy chairs, just stools and benches where we sit and talk about the day while we work. We don't really have a big sign out front, but people in Ambadved know where we are. If you are coming from the main road, you just look for the gate after the post. It's just us doing our thing every day.
