Vinayak Trading Co

The shop is tucked away in Gultekdi at number 484. It’s been our base for Vinayak Trading Co for quite some time. If you know this area, you know how busy the market gets, especially in the early hours when the trucks are coming in. We handle a lot of bulk stuff here. My desk is usually covered in papers and receipts because there's always something to keep track of. It’s not a quiet place. You hear the sounds of bags being moved and people shouting orders all day long. I started here when I was younger, and not much has changed about the way we do things. We keep the inventory moving. Some days are slow, but mostly we are on our feet. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, I suppose, but we are too busy to worry about that. My tea comes twice a day from the stall down the lane, which is the highlight of the afternoon. We don’t do any big advertising or anything. People just know where we are. Dealing with suppliers takes up most of my energy. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking quality. We keep it straightforward. If we have it, we sell it. If we don’t, we tell you when it’s coming. That is just how trading works in a place like this. We've seen a lot of people come and go, but 484 is still our home.
