Universal Construction Machinery Pvt Ltd is based in Universal Residency, Building No. D in Pune. Being in a residential-commercial mix makes the atmosphere a bit different. We are on the ground floor mostly. The office stays busy with people coming in to discuss machinery leases or equipment purchases. We have a lot of files stacked up on the shelves, mostly technical stuff and maintenance records. It is a local operation through and through. Maharashtra is a big state with a lot of building going on, so we stay pretty busy throughout the year. The team is small, and we mostly look out for each other. We don't use big words or fancy presentations. If a client needs a mixer or a crane, we just look at the schedule and tell them when it’s available. Lunchtime is usually a shared affair where we talk about everything except work for a few minutes. Then it’s back to the phones and the computers. The area around 411052 has changed a lot since we first set up here. More buildings and more traffic appear every year. We’ve seen the city grow from our windows. Our days are filled with the sound of trucks nearby and the clicking of keyboards. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, which is providing the machines that help get the city built. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on for everyone involved.
