The Focus Academy

The office here in Deep Apartment is where we spend most of our day. It is right on Alandi Road, so the traffic noise is just something we got used to over the years. Being in Vishrantwadi means we see a lot of local faces. People usually find us easily because we are right opposite the Big Bazaar. It is a busy spot. We started The Focus Academy because we saw kids in the neighborhood needed a place to sit and study together. The rooms aren't huge, but they do the job. We have some old desks and a few whiteboards that have seen better days. Every morning, someone comes in early to open the shutters and sweep the floor. Usually, the chai wallah from down the street brings a few cups around 11. It gets pretty crowded in the evenings when the school batches finish up. We don't have fancy air conditioning or anything, just some ceiling fans that rattle a bit when they are on full speed. Most of the parents who come by live in the nearby buildings. We spend a lot of time just talking to them about how their kids are doing. It is not a corporate setup, just a few of us trying to help out with math and science. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows and keep going. That is just how things are around here in Pune 411015.
