Suvarn Jyot Tailoring College

Down on Parswatnath Society Road in Kasarwadi, you’ll hear the sound of sewing machines if you walk past our doors. We are Suvarn Jyot Tailoring College, located right near the PCMC school. It’s a busy little pocket of Pune. This place isn't a big university or anything like that. It’s more of a workshop where people come to learn a real trade. We have rows of machines, rolls of fabric, and plenty of measuring tapes lying around. The atmosphere is usually pretty quiet because everyone is focused on their stitching or cutting patterns. I started this because people in Kasarwadi needed a place to learn skills they could actually use to make a living. We don't have fancy brochures. Most of our students come because they saw the sign or a neighbor told them about us. We teach the basics of tailoring, from simple repairs to making full outfits. It takes patience to teach, and even more to learn. Sometimes the machines act up or someone messes up a seam, and we just sit down and fix it together. It’s a hands-on kind of life here. The room gets a bit crowded when we have a full class, but we make it work. We are just a small college helping people pick up a craft. It’s honest work, and we’ve been at it for a while now.
