Spartan Fitness Pvt. Ltd. is situated on the second floor of the Madhav Heritage building. It’s at 1641 in Sadashiv Peth, right on the busy Tilak Road. Being on the second floor, you have to walk up the stairs which is a good way to start your workout anyway. The gym has the usual equipment like weights, benches, and a few treadmills lined up by the windows. It’s not a huge place with fancy lights, just a local spot for people to come and exercise. We have a lot of students and office workers who come in either early in the morning or after they finish work. The machines are a bit older, but we make sure they stay in good working order. It can get quite loud with the music and the weights clanking, but that’s just how a gym is. We spend a lot of time cleaning the mats and wiping down the bars. There isn't a fancy juice bar or a lounge, just a place to change and a water cooler in the corner. We know most of the people who come here by their first names because they’ve been members for a long time. The view from the windows looks out over the traffic on Tilak Road, which is always moving. We open up pretty early before the heat of the day sets in and we stay open until the evening rush is over.
