Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College

Down in the Narhe area, right near Ambegaon, the medical college stays busy pretty much twenty-four hours a day. It is a large place in Pune, and there are always people moving through the long hallways. You will see students in their white coats or blue scrubs everywhere, usually looking a bit tired from their long shifts or the endless classes they have to attend. We have the hospital side and the college side, and the two of them kind of bleed into each other during the day. The parking lot is almost always full of motorbikes and cars. It gets a bit chaotic during the peak morning hours when the OPD is full of patients. The labs are where most of the serious work happens, and we try to keep them as clean as possible for the students. It is definitely not a quiet place to work. There is always some machine beeping somewhere or someone calling out for a nurse in the corridors. We have a canteen that serves basic food, which is where everyone ends up during the lunch hour. The weather in Pune is usually okay, but the main building can get quite stuffy when it is crowded with people. We have all sorts of departments here, from the basic medical sciences to the more specialized wards. It is just a lot of people trying to do their jobs and get their medical degrees. There isn't much time for anything else.
