Shri Chintamani Clinic

You can find Shri Chintamani Clinic inside the Manmohan Appts at S No 10/11 in Katraj. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a clinic, being part of an apartment complex, but it makes us very accessible for the people living right here. We don’t have a massive sign outside, so you just have to know which door to walk through. The space is small, basically just two rooms converted for our use. It’s cozy, though, and we’ve tried to make the waiting chairs as comfortable as we could find. Because we are in Katraj, it feels very much like a neighborhood business. We see the same faces every week, mostly people from the nearby buildings. There isn’t a big staff, usually just one or two of us handling everything from the phone calls to the actual checkups. We keep a kettle in the back for tea, and often the smell of ginger tea drifts out into the hall while we work. The records are mostly kept in a big wooden cabinet that sticks a bit when it’s humid. We don’t do much in the way of marketing because we don’t really need to. People just talk to each other and word gets around that we’re here in the complex. It’s a simple operation, nothing polished or corporate about it. We just open up, see who needs help, and close up when the last person leaves.
