Shravani Clinic Laboratory

We’re located in Flat No. 102 at Amar Chowk Bazar, right near the main Bazar Path. It’s a laboratory, so the day is mostly about blood draws and testing various samples. We have a lot of glass vials and machines that hum and whir all day long. The space is a bit on the small side, being an apartment flat, but we’ve made it work for the lab setup. You can hear all the noise from the market outside—vendors calling out their prices and bikes passing by. People come in very early in the morning before they eat anything so we can take their blood samples for testing. It’s usually a bit of a rush at that time. We spend a lot of time labeling tubes and looking at slides under the microscope. The smell of rubbing alcohol is pretty much everywhere here. It’s not a place where people hang out for long; they come in, get their tests done, and head back out into the market. We try to get the results out as fast as the machines allow us to. Sometimes there’s a wait if a lot of people show up at once, and the small waiting area gets full quite quickly. We’ve got a couple of technicians who handle all the daily work. It’s a lot of focus and keeping things organized so nothing gets mixed up. We don't have fancy furniture, just the lab benches and stools we sit on.
