Shiva Valley School

If you take the Chauphula Supa Road out towards Deulgaon Gada, you will see Shiva Valley School. It is a bit of a drive out here in Daund, but the air is a little clearer than in the middle of a big city. The school sits on a decent piece of land. We have some trees that provide a bit of shade during the hot afternoons. The building itself is sturdy, though the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint one of these years. Inside, it is pretty basic. We have rows of benches, some charts hanging on the walls about the solar system or parts of a plant, and a bell that hangs by the main entrance. The road outside can get a bit busy with trucks sometimes, but mostly it is just the sound of birds and the kids shouting during their break. We have a small staff who have been here a long time. We know the families around Deulgaon Gada pretty well. It is the kind of place where people stop by just to say hello or ask about something. We don’t have any high-tech gadgets or fancy lounges. It is just a school with stone floors and big windows. When the sun sets over the valley, the whole place looks very quiet and still. We just get things ready for the next day, making sure the registers are signed and the chalkboards are clean.
