Shiv Clinic in Daund is just a small place we've had for quite a few years now. You’ll find us right in the heart of Daund, though the traffic out front can be a bit of a mess sometimes. It’s not one of those fancy hospitals with glass walls and uniforms. It’s just a regular clinic where people from the neighborhood come when they’ve got a fever or a cough that won’t go away. I’ve lived here my whole life, so I know most of the people who walk through the door. The waiting room is a bit small, and the chairs have seen better days, but they do the job. We don’t have any big mission statements or corporate goals. We just open up in the morning, see who needs help, and do what we can. Sometimes the wait is long because we get a lot of walk-ins, and I hate making people wait, but it happens. I spend a lot of my time filing papers and cleaning up after the busy hours. We don’t spend money on ads or flyers. Most people just know we are here by the bus stop. It’s a simple way to help out and earn a living at the same time. The roof leaks a tiny bit when the monsoon is really heavy, but we put a bucket out and keep going. It’s just home.
