Shakambari Stones

We are Shakambari Stones, located at Survey No- 2M in the Punawale area. Our spot is quite close to the Ravet Bridge, so we get a lot of people passing by who are traveling through that side of town. The location is practical for us because it’s easy for the big delivery trucks to reach us without getting stuck in the smaller city streets. We’ve got a variety of stones piled up, mostly things people need for their kitchens or flooring. It’s a pretty basic setup. We have a small cabin for the office work, but mostly we are outside on the lot. The ground is a bit uneven and there is usually some stone scrap lying around, but it’s a working yard, not a museum. We’ve been here long enough that the locals know us by name. When someone comes in, we just show them the stacks we have in the back. There’s no pressure, we just let the stone speak for itself. Moving these slabs is a two or three-person job every time, and we spend a lot of time making sure nothing gets chipped. It’s a honest way to earn a living. The wind can get quite strong near the bridge, blowing dust around, but we just keep working through it. We’re just a local business trying to keep things moving one slab at a time without any big fuss or bother.
