Sge Skill Foundation

Sge Skill Foundation is located out in Shirur, specifically in the Mahalaxmi Chatrapati Colony. We operate out of house number 1411, which is part of Dattatray Deshmukh’s place. It’s a bit different from a city office because it feels more like a community setting. We’re in the Pune district, but it feels a lot more relaxed out here than in the main city area. We work on skill development projects for the local people. Most of our days are spent talking to folks from the colony or the nearby villages. It is a very grounded environment, I think. We don’t have any fancy furniture, just the basic stuff we need to get the job done. Sometimes the power goes out, so we have to wait a bit or find something else to do that doesn't need a computer. It is a very personal way of working because everyone knows everyone else in this neighborhood. The air is a bit fresher out here, which is a nice change. We have a simple desk and a laptop and that is about it for our office setup. We’re just trying to help folks learn some new skills so they can find better work later on. It’s a small operation, but we stay quite busy with the local needs. You won't find any shiny logos here, just a small sign and some people working through the afternoon heat. It is a quiet but steady place.
