Appa Shalewala

If you are looking for Appa Shalewala we are located right beside Saras Baugh on the Saras Baugh Road. It’s a very famous spot in the city and most people know the area because of the park and the temple nearby. We’ve been here for a long time selling shawls and traditional wear to the locals and the tourists who come to visit the gardens. The shop is quite traditional and we don’t have any of those bright neon lights or modern displays. We just have the shelves packed with different fabrics and designs. It can get very crowded on the weekends when families come out to the park and then stop by to see what we have. My family has been doing this for generations and we still follow the same ways of doing business. We sit on the floor cushions and show the cloth to anyone who walks in. It’s a slow process sometimes because people like to feel the material and talk about the colors. We don’t use any complicated sales tactics. We just tell them what the fabric is and where it came from. The traffic on Saras Baugh Road is always heavy so there is a constant hum of engines in the background while we work. It’s a noisy but friendly place to be. We just enjoy meeting the different people who pass through and helping them find something they like for their home.
