Sanika Marble & Granite

Running Sanika Marble & Granite out here in Ambegaon near Aroh Garden is a lot of heavy lifting. We have been at this 507/3 spot for a while now. The yard is usually covered in a thin layer of stone dust, which is just part of the job when you deal with marble and granite all day. We keep different slabs leaning against the walls, and you have to walk around carefully so you don't trip. It’s mostly just us moving stones around and talking to people who are building their first homes or maybe just fixing a kitchen counter. Marble is heavy and fragile at the same time, so we have to be really careful when we load the trucks. The sun gets pretty hot out here in the open space, but we have a small roof to sit under when things quiet down. We don't have a big sales team or a shiny showroom with air conditioning. It’s just the stone, the tools, and the trucks coming and going. Sometimes a customer comes in with a specific idea for their floor, and we spend time showing them what we have in the stacks. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy from morning till the evening. The area around Aroh Garden has changed a lot, with more buildings popping up, so there is always someone looking for a bit of stone to finish their project.
