Sanchi Beauty Classes

We’ve been here at Guruwar Peth for a good while now. The building at Servey 263 Sai Kunj stays busy most days of the week. You can find us right in the Mominpura area. Inside the classes, there’s usually a bit of a mess with combs and makeup kits spread out on the tables. It’s a practical place for learning. We don’t have fancy leather chairs, but the mirrors work fine for what we need. Students come in around ten in the morning and they stay until the evening light starts to fade away. There is a lot of talking and chatter. Usually, we are discussing how to get a braid right or why the foundation isn’t blending the way it should. It gets a bit hot in the summer when the fans are on full speed and the door is closed. The street outside is always noisy with bikes and people walking to the local market. We mostly just focus on showing people how to do things with their hands. Sometimes we run out of tea midway through a session because someone forgot to buy milk. It’s just how it is. We’ve seen many different faces pass through these doors over the years. Some stay for a month, others stay much longer to practice. If you’re looking for the place, just head toward the building. The door is usually open unless it’s raining hard outside. We keep things simple here without any big signs or flashing lights. It is a local spot.
