Our spot is right on the Mumbai-Pune Road, specifically in Uttam Market over in Chinchwad. Being at shops 17 and 18, we’ve got a decent amount of space, but it never seems like enough once a new shipment of stock arrives. If you’re looking for us, we’re directly across from where Jayshree Talkies used to be, which most people around here use as a landmark. The noise from the main road is constant, so you get used to speaking up over the trucks. We mostly handle tools and hardware items. It involves a lot of heavy lifting, moving crates of bolts or getting drills down for someone to look at. The concrete floor has seen better days and is full of scuffs from dragging heavy boxes around. A lot of our time goes into just organizing the shelves because things get mixed up when we are busy. Local contractors stop by in their pickups, and sometimes homeowners come in not really knowing the name of the part they need. We usually have to figure it out together. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights. Most of the time, the air smells a bit like machine oil and metal. We keep an old ledger on the desk that’s getting pretty worn out. It’s just a straightforward business where we sell what people need for their work or repairs. Nothing more to it than that, really.
