We've been running Rashid Fisheries out here at Camp 39 for quite some time now. It’s a straightforward shop, nothing fancy to look at, just a place where we handle the daily catch. Every morning starts way before most people are even awake, mostly around four or five. We have to get the ice laid out and make sure everything is sorted properly. The floor is usually wet and it can get a bit chilly, but you get used to it after a few years. Our spot in Camp 39 isn’t huge, but it fits what we need. We spend most of our hours cleaning and prepping so that when people show up, things are ready. It’s mostly locals who come by, folks who live nearby and want something for their dinner. We don’t spend money on big signs or anything like that. People just know where we are. Sometimes the work is tiring, especially on the days when the delivery truck shows up late and we’re scrambling to get organized. We just take it as it comes. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with the cold water. We like talking to the regulars though, hearing about their families while we wrap things up. It’s just a normal way to earn a living, really. We try to keep the place tidy, but it's a fish shop, so there is always something to mop up.
