If you are looking for Dhananjay Mutton Shop, we are at number 8 in the Tapsya Apartment building. This is over in the Kothrud area, specifically near Jagtap Dairy. Kothrud is a very lively part of the city, and our mornings start much earlier than most people’s do. We have to get everything ready before the first customers show up. The shop is small and kept very clean, as you would expect for a place that handles meat. We’ve got the counters and the cutting blocks all set up in the main space. It’s a very local business; we know many of the people who come in by their first names because they’ve been buying from us for a long time. There isn't any fancy marketing here. We just have the sign out front and the fresh stock every day. Sometimes it gets really crowded on Sundays, and the line goes out onto the sidewalk. We just keep working through it, weighing the orders and wrapping them up. The noise of the city is always there in the background, with the bikes and cars zooming past Jagtap Dairy. We don't have much time for sitting around. Once the shop opens, it's pretty much constant movement until we close the shutters in the evening. It’s a tiring job but it’s a good one, and it feels right being a part of this local neighborhood. We try to keep it simple and honest.
