Raj Arts

Raj Arts is located on the Sangavi New Link Road. It is a simple shop where we do various kinds of artistic work and sign painting. The space is usually colorful because of all the paint tins and brushes we have lying around. We spend our time working on banners, boards, and sometimes smaller hand-painted signs. There is always the smell of turpentine and fresh paint in the air. The link road is quite modern now, but our shop keeps that traditional feel where everything is done by hand or with simple tools. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who enjoy the process of creating something from a blank surface. The floor is covered in drips of different colors from years of projects. We have to wait for the paint to dry before we can move things, so there is often stuff leaning against the walls. It is a steady pace of work. We aren't looking to be the biggest agency in the city. We just like the craft and the feeling of finishing a good piece of work. People from around the neighborhood stop in to see what we are currently painting. It's a nice way to spend the day, even if our clothes are always stained with ink. Sometimes the weather affects how the paint sticks, so we have to watch the humidity levels closely during the rainy season. It's just me and my assistant mostly, working through whatever orders come in from local shops nearby.
