Pushkar Granite & Marble

Our business is at S No 29/4/1 in Katraj. We are right across from Abhinav School, so it gets very lively when the bell rings and all the kids come out. Our yard is filled with both granite and marble. The marble is softer and we have to keep it tucked away a bit more carefully. It is often wet here because we use water to keep the dust down when we are moving the stones. The floor of the shop is usually covered in puddles. We have a small area where customers can stand and look at the different patterns in the slabs. Most of the people who come in are families from around Pune who are fixing up their kitchens or bathrooms. We spend a lot of time talking about the different veins in the marble. It is a lot of walking back and forth across the yard. The noise from the main road is always there in the background. We have been in Katraj for a good while and have seen many houses go up nearby. Our office is just a small corner with a fan that makes a bit of a clicking sound when it is on. We don't have a lot of help, so we do most of the loading and unloading ourselves. It is a lot of physical work, but it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down and we lock up.
