Poona Hospital

If you go down to Bus Stand Road, you’ll find Poona Hospital right there. It’s a very convenient spot for people coming in from out of town because the bus stand is so close. We get a lot of foot traffic because of that. The hospital is always moving and there is rarely a quiet moment. There’s a lot of noise from the buses and the street, but that’s just part of being in this location. We have a good number of beds and the staff is always busy with something. It’s a straightforward setup inside. You walk in, go to the desk, and they tell you where to go. It’s not a luxury place. It’s a place for medical care. We see everyone from travelers who got sick on the road to locals who live just a few streets away. The waiting area can get pretty warm in the summer months, but we have fans going. We don’t have a big mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just show up and do the work that needs doing. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic when several buses arrive at once and people come in all at the same time. We just manage it as best as we can. It’s a busy life working here on Bus Stand Road. There is always someone needing help or a doctor needing a file. We just keep our heads down and do the job until the shift is over.
