Running Pawan Shoes & Bags Houses near Sadguru Supermarket in Moshi is a full-time job that never really ends. We have been here for a while now, and most people in Moshi know our spot because they pass it every time they go for groceries. The shop is filled with the smell of new rubber and leather, which I’ve grown to like over the years. We have racks and racks of shoes on one side and all kinds of bags hanging from the ceiling on the other. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once. I spend a lot of time moving boxes around to find the right size for someone. Sometimes the fans make a clicking noise that I keep meaning to fix but never get around to. Our customers are mostly locals, mothers buying school shoes for their kids or workers looking for something tough that won't fall apart in a month. We don't do any big advertising or anything. People just see the shoes sitting outside on the pavement and walk in. It's a simple setup. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the stock, but that's part of the work. Moshi is growing fast, and we see a lot of new faces lately, which is good. We just keep doing what we do every day, opening the shutters and sweeping the floor before the first customer arrives.
