About Padmashree D Y Patil College Of Applied Arts Crafts – Education in Pune
Our place, Padmashree D Y Patil College Of Applied Arts Crafts, is tucked away in Nigdi. To find us, you really just need to go behind the Akurdi Railway Station in Pune. Being so close to the station means there is always the sound of trains in the background, which you get used to after a week or so. The students here are usually carrying big folders or bags filled with paints and brushes. It is a bit of a walk from the main road, but the 411001 area is pretty well connected. The building at number 29 stays busy from morning until late afternoon. Inside, you will see charcoal sketches and half-finished projects left on the tables. It is not the most organized looking place because art can be messy. Sometimes the hallways smell like oil paint or clay. We have a lot of stairs and the rooms have large windows to let the light in, which is good for drawing. On rainy days, the station path gets a bit muddy, but everyone still makes it to class. You can find a decent vada pav stall just outside the gates where people congregate during lunch. It is a practical spot for anyone coming from different parts of Pune. We don’t have much in the way of polished marble floors, but the walls are covered in student work which looks better anyway. People here just focus on their craft.
