We are located right in Deccan Gymkhana on Mahant Road. It’s a nice part of the city, though it stays very busy with people moving around from morning until night. Our store is a typical neighborhood spot where we keep all the daily essentials people might need. You’ll find big bags of rice, different types of dals, soaps, and biscuits lining the wooden shelves. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to fit in as much variety as we can for the regulars who live around here. I usually spend my early morning checking the stock levels and talking to the guys who deliver the milk and bread. The Mahant Road area has a lot of old houses and some new apartments too, so we see a good mix of everyone. Some customers have been coming to us for decades, and we know their usual orders as soon as they walk in. We don’t have a computer system that’s very fancy or modern; mostly we just write things down in our books or just remember them. The afternoons are usually a bit quieter, which gives us some time to rest or sweep the front of the shop. When the local school lets out, kids often come in for small candies or packets of snacks. It’s a steady and simple life. We keep the doors open until late so neighbors can pick up things they forgot for their dinners. It's just about having what people need.
