Natural Marble

Our yard is right on the Pune Satara Road, just across from where the Pudhari Paper office is. If you are driving towards Katraj, you will see the big slabs of stone leaning against the walls. We have been at 39 Katraj for years. It’s a heavy job, moving these blocks around with the crane. The ground is always covered in white dust because we cut things to size right here. It gets noisy when the saws are running, but that is part of the work. People stop their cars and walk in to see the different colors of marble we have sitting out. Some pieces are plain and others have lots of lines in them. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just the outdoor space and a small office where we sit. Dealing with stone is hard on the hands, but we are used to it by now. The traffic on the main road is constant, so we hear the horns all day long. Sometimes we have a lot of stock and the yard feels cramped, then we sell a big load and it looks empty for a bit. We just handle the stone and help people load it onto their trucks. It's straightforward work. If you need a piece for a kitchen or a floor, we probably have a slab that fits. The weather affects us a lot too, especially during the rainy season.
