Modern College

Modern College is right in the middle of Shivajinagar in Pune. The address is 411001. If you know Pune, you know that Shivajinagar is always crowded and full of energy. The college is a big part of that. There are multiple buildings and lots of students coming in from all parts of the city. Because it’s so central, you have buses and rickshaws constantly moving around the perimeter. Inside the gates, it feels a bit like its own little world, though you can still hear the city noise. The buildings are a mix of older sections and some newer ones that have been added over the years. The hallways are usually packed with people between classes. You’ll find students sitting on the steps or near the canteen area talking. The classrooms have high windows and the furniture is the sturdy, old-fashioned kind that lasts forever. It gets very busy during admission season, and the staff have their hands full with paperwork and questions. Pune’s weather can be quite rainy, so the corridors often have a few puddles when the monsoon is strong. We don’t have a polished, corporate feel here. It’s more of a traditional college atmosphere where things are a bit messy but functional. People in Pune have known about this place for a long time. It’s just a staple of the Shivajinagar area, and we keep things running the same way we have for years.
