It is quite a large campus because medical colleges need a lot of space for labs and different departments. The air out here in Talegaon is a bit fresher than what you find in the middle of Pune city. We have a lot of students who live here on the grounds because the work is quite demanding and the days start early. You see people in white coats or scrubs walking around at all hours of the day. The buildings are built of sturdy concrete and have been here for a good number of years. They look a bit weathered from the heavy rains we get in this part of Maharashtra. Inside, it’s mostly long corridors and heavy doors. It isn't a particularly pretty place, but it is very practical for what we do. The labs have a lot of equipment that takes up most of the space. We have a canteen where the food is okay, but it always smells like onions and spices. The staff is usually busy with paperwork or classes. It’s a very serious place, but we have some spots where students sit and talk under the trees during their rare free time. We don't have fancy lounges or high-end decor. It’s just a place where the work gets done and people learn what they need to. It’s a big part of the local area.
