Manish Clinic

Manish Clinic is tucked away in the Kaustub Apartment building, which is number 59/64 in Kasba Peth. If you know Pune at all, you know that Kasba Peth is one of those old, crowded areas where the streets are narrow and there is always something going on. Finding a parking spot near our place is a real headache, so most people just walk or take a rickshaw to get here. The clinic is inside the apartment complex, so it feels more like a home than a sterile office. We have white walls that we try to keep clean, though there are always a few scuff marks from bags and shoes. The light in the hallway is a bit dim sometimes, but once you step into the clinic, it’s bright enough. We hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long—the scooters, the vegetable sellers shouting, and children playing nearby. It’s just the way it is in this part of Pune. We have a small staff, and we usually know who is coming in before they even say their name. We keep our supplies in the back room and spend most of our time sitting at the small desks or moving between the two exam rooms. It’s a tight space, but we make it work. Sometimes the fan in the corner rattles, but it keeps us cool enough when the heat gets bad in the summer months. It's a busy life for us here in the apartments.
