If you find yourself on Dhanori Road in Vishrantwadi, you’ll see the Indraprast Building where we are based. It’s a tall enough building and we use a good portion of it for the school. Being in a shared building like this means we have neighbors, so we have to keep the kids from being too loud in the stairwells when they move between floors. The classrooms are spread out, and we’ve tried to make each one a good place for the students to sit and focus on their work. We get a lot of kids from the local housing societies around here. The morning commute can be a bit of a scramble because the road outside gets very busy with traffic and buses. Once the students are inside, things settle down into a steady rhythm. We have the usual subjects and the usual exams that everyone has to pass. The staff room is always full of books, registers, and tea cups. We spend our days mostly moving from one room to another to teach. We don't have a big open field for sports, so we do what we can in the spaces available to us. It’s a very urban school experience. The kids are used to the city life. We just provide a steady place for them to come and get their education. It's a lot of papers, pens, and daily schedules. We’ve been here for a while and the building feels like a second home to many of us teachers.
