Laxmi Tiles

If you head down the Kharadi-Mudhwa Road near Sainath Nagar, you’ll find us. We are at 24/2B in Kharadi. It’s a busy area these days with all the new buildings going up. We have stacks of tiles everywhere, inside and outside. It’s quite heavy work, moving those boxes around all day. The floor of the shop is always covered in a bit of grit from the ceramics and stone. We get a lot of people walking in who are just starting to fix up their homes and don’t really know what they want. We spend a lot of time showing them different patterns and colors. It’s not a high-end boutique; it’s more like a warehouse where you can see the actual stock. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon and it gets pretty warm, so we usually have a couple of big fans blowing all the time. We don't have any sales pitch or anything. We just tell people what we have in stock and what the price is. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance and we have to scramble to move things around. It’s a bit chaotic but we manage to get things out to the customers on time. We’ve lived in this area for years, so we see a lot of familiar faces coming back whenever they start a new project or need a repair done.
